Bitcoin Lightning
Bitcoin transactions are slow and expensive! Really?
The Lightning network is an extension of Bitcoin that aims to improve the scalability and efficiency of Bitcoin transactions.
Lightning is a 2nd layer / off chain solution that enables smallest transactions with minimal fees and within shortest time.
Transactions with only one Satoshi, for example, can thus be carried out at low cost.
Satoshi is the smallest unit of Bitcoin. 1 Bitcoin is 10,000,000 Satoshi. What the cent is for the Euro, the Satoshi is for the Bitcoin.
According to the developers, the transaction speed is at least 1,000,000 transactions per second.
Lightning can already be used to pay in more and more stores. A prominent example is energyKichten in Bern (Switzerland).
Bitcoin Lightning by TOBG
TOBG operates its own Bitcoin and Lightning servers
Up to 60 USD can be transferred via Lightning. If the amount is above this, a normal (on chain) Bitcoin transaction is carried out. This is for security reasons, as Lightning is still under development.
